1. For how long have you been a DSP?

2 years, 6 months.

2. When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A nurse.

3. If they made a movie about your life, what would it be called?

Out of the Depths and Into the Light.

4. Why did you become a DSP?

To help and encourage others—especially those that have been abused.

5. Who is your hero in real life?

Joseph in the Bible who had a boatload of bad stuff happen to him, but he trusted that God had a higher purpose.

6. What is your favorite part about being a DSP?

Seeing the rewards of lives changed as a result of patience, love and persistence.

7. If you had one wish, what would it be?

To see the one I work with now be able to dine with elegance.

8. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Seeing the one I work with now begin to show positive changes after spending 49 years at a mental institution and having unbelievable nasty behaviors.

9. If you were a superhero, what would be your superpower?

To rescue those children and others in abusive situations.

10. What is one thing you wish people understood about you and your work?

People act out because they don't know how to communicate their needs. It takes a lot of love, patience and persistence, along with a lot of setbacks before results are seen because trust, as well as love, has to be established.
